Clover Health names CEO of value-based care

Franklin, Tenn.-based Clover Health has appointed Aric Sharp as CEO of value-based care, where he will lead all value-based care operations for the company including for the contracting arm, Clover Health Partners.

Mr. Sharp will begin by overseeing the transition of Clover Health Partners to fit the requirements of the Accountable Care Organization's Realizing Equity, Access and Community Health model, which takes effect in 2023, according to a May 9 press release.

Mr. Sharp is chair-elect of the American Medical Group Association. Previously, he was senior vice president and chief transformation officer at Oklahoma City-based Integris Health, where he led the system's transition to value-based care. Prior to Integris, Mr. Sharp served as vice president for accountable care at West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health. Earlier in his career, he was also CEO for Quincy (Ill.) Medical Group and COO at the West Des Moines-based Iowa Clinic.

"We are thrilled to welcome Aric to the Clover family, and believe his experience leading transformation efforts for payor innovation strategies around value based agreements will position him well to lead Clover Health Partners through its transition to the ACO REACH model," Clover CEO Vivek Garipalli. "Additionally, Aric's expertise in physician relations and ability to strategize and operationalize with a keen focus on provider education, buy-in and engagement will be a huge asset to Clover as we look to broaden our provider network and adoption of the Clover Assistant."
