The survey was released Sept. 12 and includes data from 1,034 physician offices in 15 metropolitan areas. The average acceptance rates are based on five specialties: family medicine, cardiology, dermatology, obstetrics-gynecology and orthopedics.
The average Medicare acceptance rate among the surveyed cities is 82.4 percent, down from 84.5 percent in 2017.
