Cigna Healthcare is exiting Medicare Advantage markets or making service area reductions in eight states for 2025, according to a Sept. 18 post from insurance brokerage firm Pinnacle Financial Services.
In total, 36 plans and about 5,400 members are impacted. The majority of the markets have low membership and alternative MA plans available, with the exception of four full county exits, according to the notice. A list of MA market exits industry-wide is available here.
Markets and plans affected:
Colorado: Ending PPO plans in La Plata and Montezuma counties, affecting less than 500 members
Florida: Ending PPO plans, affecting approximately 4,000 members
Illinois: Ending PPO plans in DeKalb County and HMO plans in Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair counties
Missouri: Exiting Franklin and Clinton counties
North Carolina: Exiting Caldwell County.
Tennessee: PPO service reductions in Hawkins and Obion counties
Texas: PPO service reductions in Aransas and Walker counties
Utah: Ending HMO plans in Utah County, affecting approximately 570 members.
