The contract ended after a dispute over rates. Under the new agreement, Christus physicians, hospitals and other facilities will again be considered in network for Cigna members, who were previously facing higher out-of-network prices.
The new contract restores in-network coverage as of the previous contracts’ expiration dates, which vary across facilities, Cigna told the Longview News-Journal. As a result, claims that were billed as out of network will be reprocessed at in-network rates.
