Centene was recognized for its Health Equity Improvement Model, according to a March 21 news release.

The four-step model features a public health framework that integrates quantitative and qualitative data to help identify barriers and design initiatives across community, member and provider levels, according to the release.

Centene said successes include improved maternal health outcomes among African American and Black members with California’s Health Net insurance provider.

The model has been implemented in several markets and Centene plans to implement it across the enterprise.
