Four things to know:
1. Centene’s revenues totaled nearly $19 billion in the third quarter ended Sept. 30, up 17.2 percent year over year from $16.2 billion.
2. Operating expenses for the insurer grew to $18.8 billion in the third quarter of this year, up 16.8 percent from $16.1 billion reported in the same period a year prior.
3. Centene saw gains in its managed care membership, as it serves 884,200 more members than last year. Centene’s managed care membership totaled 15.3 million as of Sept. 30.
4. The insurer ended the third quarter with a $95 million profit, fives times higher than the $19 million it recorded in the third quarter of 2018.
