Ambetter Health will be available on ACA exchange markets in 29 states in 2025, according to an Oct. 2 news release from Centene.

Centene will offer individual plans in Iowa for the first time in 2025, and expand to more counties in nine other states.

Centene is the largest ACA exchange insurer, with 4.4 million individual members in 2024.

The company will add Ambetter Health Solutions in several states in 2025. These products are designed for individuals purchasing coverage through ICHRA funding provided by their employer.

Centene’s marketplace business has grown rapidly in recent years. In February, the company reported 88% growth year over year in the business.

Marketplace enrollment reached a record high of more than 20 million in 2024, partly due to enhanced federal subsidies. These subsidies are set to expire at the end of 2025 if they are not extended by Congress.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
