The contract extends the organizations’ relationship, established in 2014, through 2023. Under the contract, CVS Caremark will maintain its support of integrating pharmacy data and information into certain CareFirst value-based efforts. These include the payer’s Patient-Centered Medical Home and Total Care and Cost Improvement programs.
Of the pharmacy contract, CareFirst President and CEO Chet Burrell said, “Accurate and complete pharmacy claims information is essential to maximizing the value of our PCMH and TCCI programs for our members and accounts.”
