The Sanitas Medical Centers will offer BCBS of Tennessee members preventive care, urgent care, chronic disease management and care coordination services, with same-day appointments and extended hours available. The joint venture is part of a broader effort by BCBS to improve primary care offerings in Tennessee. The insurer has invested more than $65 million in patient-centered medical homes over the past five years.

“We’ll continue looking for ways to partner with healthcare providers to make care more accessible and more convenient for our neighbors throughout Tennessee,” said Scott Pierce, COO of BCBS of Tennessee, in a press release.

The new health centers will be in Brentwood, East Nashville, Murfreesboro, South Nashville, and four locations throughout Memphis.
