BCBS of Rhode Island to fund mental health providers’ transition to population models

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island launched a grant program to help behavioral health providers transition to a population health model.

The Behavioral Health Quality Grant program aims to help behavioral health providers anticipate patient needs and close care gaps by incorporating screening, progress racking and outcomes reporting into their services.

The first recipient of BCBS of Rhode Island’s grant program is Newport Mental Health in Middletown. The organization received $422,000 to launch an EHR. The organization will also use the funds to add a population data analyst.
