About two-thirds of BCBSA insurers already cover Cologuard, Exact Sciences Chairman and CEO Kevin Conroy said in a prepared statement. BCBSA is comprised of 36 BCBS companies.
Insurer coverage for Exact Sciences’ Cologuard increased by 67 percent in 2016. About 163 million Americans have health plans covering the noninvasive test.
Humana recently extended coverage to Cologuard effective Jan. 1.
