April Golenor is UPMC Health Plan’s new chief Medicare officer

Pittsburgh-based UPMC Health Plan has selected April Golenor to serve as chief Medicare officer.

In this role, Ms. Golenor will be responsible for the health plan’s Medicare business line, including dual-eligible special needs plans that supplement Medicare coverage.

She previously served as CEO of Care Wisconsin, a Madison-based managed care organization. She also was regional president for the Humana Gulf States Region, as well as president and CEO of UnitedHealthcare’s Bayou Health Medicaid plan in Louisiana and CEO of Soundpath Health in Federal Way, Wash.

Ms. Golenor has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University–San Bernadino.
