El Camino Health executives say they have had to absorb costs for Anthem patients (who make up 10 percent of their patient base) because of high costs, according to the Los Altos Town Crier

Anthem similarly cited high costs, but on El Camino Health’s end. The insurer claimed the hospital charges far more than other California providers, upward of double the average price statewide, according to the Town Crier.

An El Camino Health spokesperson said that prices are within range of other local providers, which are similarly higher compared to the data Anthem “cherry-picked” from less expensive areas of the state.

Negotiations are ongoing, according to the Los Altos Town Crier, with leaders hopeful for a resolution.
