Anthem CEO: Investments will focus on data, analytics

Anthem is making investments in data, analytics, blockchain and artificial intelligence that the health insurer expects will one day lower costs and improve member outcomes.

During an interview at the 2019 Forbes Healthcare Summit in New York City, Gail Boudreaux, Anthem’s CEO, said how the health plan uses data and analytics will be key to its future, according to Forbes reporter Bruce Japsen.

To date, Anthem has launched a personalized health record to better capture patient data and help members make healthcare decisions. Ms. Boudreaux said that by making other investments in data and analytics, members will have a more cohesive health plan experience.
