Anthem BCBS expands coverage to 24 counties in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services will allow Anthem BlueCross and BlueShield of Wisconsin to expand its service area to 24 Wisconsin counties where it offers healthcare coverage for beneficiaries enrolled in Medicaid and BadgerCare Plus, a state healthcare program for low-income residents.

The expansion, effective Feb. 1, increases Anthem BCBS’ BadgerCare Plus and Medicaid service area to 59 Wisconsin counties.   

The additional counties include Adams, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Columbia, Crawford, Douglas, Eau Claire, Grant, Green, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Lafayette, Lincoln, Marathon, Monroe, Pierce, Richland, Sauk, St. Croix, Trempealeau, Vernon and Washburn.
