Alliance of Community Health Plans taps new chief medical officer

Jennifer Lee, MD, is joining the Alliance of Community Health Plans as chief medical officer.

Dr. Lee will lead the clinical innovation and data analytics teams, according to an April 19 Alliance of Community Health Plans news release. 

In the role she will lead research and programming on patient experience, delivery transformation and value-based coverage and care, according to the news release. 

Dr. Lee previously led Virginia’s Medicaid expansion while serving as the state’s Medicaid director.  She also served as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ deputy under secretary for health policy. In that role she oversaw telehealth, health informatics, strategic planning and national policy for key clinical service lines, such as primary and behavioral health for the VA.
