Boca Raton (Fla.) Regional Hospital and Louisville, Ky.-based Humana renewed their contract, allowing Humana policyholders to access the hospital’s services at discounted in-network rates.
2. BCBS of Florida, Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment network for services
Jacksonville, Fla.-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida networked with Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers in Palm Springs, Fla., to provide policyholders access to addiction treatment services.
3. BCBS, Texas Health Resources settle contract dispute
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and Arlington-based Texas Health Resources agreed to renew a contract that had been in dispute over a proposed rate increase by the health system and disagreement over the language of a termination clause.
4. Mississippi hospital files suit against UnitedHealthcare in ongoing payment spat
Tupelo-based North Mississippi Medical Center filed a lawsuit against Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare one week after the two organizations reached a temporary agreement over an ongoing payment dispute.
5. WellStar, BCBS team up for federal exchange plan
Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System and Atlanta-based Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia will collaborate on a federal insurance exchange product.
6. Fairview, BCBS of Minnesota settle contract dispute
Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota reached a contract agreement to maintain Fairview’s hospitals and clinics in the insurer’s provider network.
7. WakeMed to decline participation in BCBS’ exchange plan, leaving UNC Health Care as sole provider
Raleigh, N.C.-based WakeMed Health & Hospitals and Durham-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina reached a contract impasse that could have left some members unable to receive in-network care at WakeMed unless they enroll in a different plan.
