7 payers named among 50 most community-minded companies in US

Seven payers were named June 16 in Points of Light's 10th annual "Civic 50 honorees," a national standard for corporate citizenship and how companies use their time, skills and resources to drive social impact in their communities and company.

The Civic 50 honorees are companies with annual domestic revenues of at least $1 billion and are selected based on four metrics of their corporate citizenship and social impact initiatives: investment of resources, integration across business functions, institutionalization through policies, and systems and impact measurement.

Points of Light is an Atlanta-based international nonprofit founded by President George H.W. Bush in 1990.

Among all 50 companies, UnitedHealth Group was named the leader in the healthcare sector and the only payer to be an honoree all 10 years.

Payers among the 2022 Civic 50 honorees:

  • UnitedHealth Group
  • Anthem
  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts
  • CVS Health
  • Health Care Service Corp.
