The 29th annual survey was released Dec. 13, with questions sent to nominated organizations in June. The survey consisted of 52 questions and six categories: DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) practices; IT turnover, promotions and growth; IT retention and engagement programs; remote/hybrid working; benefits and perks; and training and career development opportunities.
Survey entries were also reviewed and evaluated by a panel of industry experts.
Four payers among the best IT workplaces in 2023:
- BCBS North Carolina was named No. 1 among large employers (5,000+ employees)
- Health Care Service Corp. (BCBS Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Montana) was named 28th best among large employers
- Kaiser Permanente was named 35th best among large employers
- BCBS North Dakota was named 16th best among small employers (fewer than 1,000 employees)
