4 payer, provider contract disputes, resolutions in April

Becker's Hospital Review reported these four contract resolutions and dissolutions between payers and providers since April 1, beginning with the most recent.

1. Piedmont inks new agreement with BCBS: 3 things to know
Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia signed a three-year contract April 20, three days after announcing a handshake agreement.

2. HCA TriStar, BCBS dispute generates $14M in balance bills
A network dispute between Brentwood, Tenn.-based TriStar Health, a subsidiary of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee produced $14 million in patient balance bills, according to an article submitted to the Tennessean by Alex Tolbert,  founder of consulting group Bernard Health.

3. Contract termination between New Mexico Heart Institute, Presbyterian Health Plan affects 3k patients
Albuquerque-based New Mexico Heart Institute, one of the state's largest cardiology practices, terminated its contract with Presbyterian Health Plan — a move that will affect about 3,000 patients.

4. BCBS, Texas Health Resources reach 11th hour agreement
Arlington-based Texas Health Resources and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas evaded a contract lapse through a last-minute agreement.
