4 insurers set to leave 2018 ACA exchanges

Here are four insurers planning to exit the ACA marketplace in 2018, as reported by Becker’s Hospital Review.

1. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Mo.) will not sell individual ACA health plans in the payer’s 32-county service area in Missouri and Kansas for 2018. 

2. Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna will exit ACA exchanges in Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska and Virginia in 2018, marking the insurer’s full exit from the individual marketplace.

3. Des Moines, Iowa-based Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield will leave Iowa’s ACA health insurance exchange effective Jan. 1, 2018.

4. Louisville, Ky.-based Humana plans to no longer provide individual products through ACA exchanges effective Jan. 1, 2018.
