4 health systems that shut down health plans in 2017

Here are four health systems that closed their insurance arms this year.

1. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health shared plans in August to shutter its health insurance business, CareConnect, over the next year.

2. Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health will sell its health plan to Evolent Health, a Washington, D.C.-based value-based care platform.

3. Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health plans to shut down its health plan operation in 2018.

4. Late last year, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare unveiled plans to roll back its insurance business in 2017 after officials attributed lukewarm earnings to its health plan operations.
