3 payer CEOs among healthcare's 'most overpaid'

Three payer CEOs are among As You Sow's list of the most "overpaid" CEOs at S&P 500 companies. 

The shareholder advocacy group published its 10th annual list of the most overpaid CEOs on Nov. 15. 

The ranking is based on three factors: excess pay, determined by the ratio of CEO pay to shareholder return; the percentage of shareholders who voted against executives' compensation packages; and CEO-to-worker pay ratio. '

Here are the three payer CEOs on As You Sow's list: 

46. Karen Lynch, CEO of CVS Health 

  • Pay: $21.32 million
  • CEO-to-worker pay ratio: 380:1
  • Shareholder votes against CEO pay: 12%
  • Excess pay: $6.5 million

80. Joseph Zubretsky, CEO of Molina Healthcare 

  • Pay: $22.13 million
  • CEO-to-worker pay ratio: 293:1
  • Shareholder votes against CEO pay: 7% 
  • Excess pay: $6.34 million

81. David Cordani, CEO of the Cigna Group 

  • Pay: $20.97 million
  • CEO-to-worker pay ratio: 277:1 
  • Shareholder votes against CEO pay: 7% 
  • Excess pay: $5.82 million
