3,000 Wisconsin Medicaid members possible victims of hacking

The Wisconsin Department of Health notified 2,868 Medicaid recipients that their personal information may have been compromised after a hacker gained access to an email account, according to a June 4 We Are Greenbay article, a CBS affiliate.

The hacking took place Feb. 19 and possibly exposed personal information including names, Social Security numbers, addresses and health conditions. The hacker’s access has been disabled, the article said.

DHS requested that officials conduct a review of the organization’s security protocols to prevent future attacks, according to the article.
