Of the employers and health plans surveyed by the group, 40 percent said they were considering increasing copays or coinsurance for prescription drugs.
Most of the plans surveyed, 64 percent, said they were considering at least one measure to change cost-sharing.
Pharmaceutical Strategies Group surveyed 149 employers and health plans in February and March. The report was published June 13.
Of those surveyed, 22 percent said they were considering increasing the number of cost-sharing tiers in their drug formulary, and 22 percent said they were considering increasing deductibles for members.
The most common reasons health plans and employers surveyed said they were considering changes were recommendations from PBMs or health plans. Another 45 percent of plans surveyed said claims history led them to consider changes.
