WPS Health Solutions has acquired Mavida Health, a company that provides digital women’s mental health services.

Mavida offers virtual therapy and medication management for women navigating menstrual and premenstrual conditions, fertility treatment, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, postpartum recovery and menopause, according to a June 16 news release. The company currently treats patients in California, New York, New Jersey and Texas and plans to add states.

Mavida will continue to operate as an independent company under its own leadership team, and WPS’ chief growth officer, Rochelle Myers, will serve as president. The insurer said it will work to extend Mavida’s licensure into Wisconsin and evaluate new offerings for members.

The acquisition is the first in a planned series of targeted investments as WPS diversifies revenue beyond its core health insurance and federal contract administration operations.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
