UnitedHealth Group plans to acquire Alegeus Technologies, a health benefits administration platform, the company disclosed in its first-quarter earnings.
Boston-based Alegeus administers consumer-directed healthcare benefit accounts including FSAs, HSAs, HRAs, wellness incentive, dependent care, and commuter accounts for more than 26 million members, processing more than $6 billion in consumer healthcare payments annually. Its clients include payers, third-party administrators, and financial institutions.
UnitedHealth said the acquisition reflects the company’s “commitment to advancing more flexible, consumer-centered solutions.” The deal is subject to regulatory review and is expected to close in the second half of 2026.
