The Competition and Markets Authority probe comes after Bordeaux UK Holdings II — a unit of UnitedHealth’s Optum business — agreed to acquire U.K.-based EMIS Group in January 2022 in a $1.51 billion deal, according to the report.

The Competition and Markets Authority said any interested party has until Feb. 3 to submit comments to support its investigation on whether the deal will harm competition, according to the report. The government department is expected to announce its phase one decision by March 17.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
