Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana CEO Steven Udvarhelyi, MD, said the company's pending sale to Elevance Health will not lead to layoffs or office closures, the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report reported March 16.
Dr. Udvarhelyi said he expects current employment will be maintained for at least two years and it will remain, effectively, a local company.
The company will also keep the BCBS Louisiana brand, though "Anthem" will be added to the logo, according to the report.
