Health Alliance Plan, CareSource form joint venture

Health Alliance Plan and CareSource have finalized an agreement to create a joint venture to expand Health Alliance Plan’s Medicaid business in Michigan.

Health Alliance Plan, a subsidiary of Detroit-based Henry Ford Health, currently has 43,000 Medicaid members, according to a May 4 news release. 

CareSource, a nonprofit managed care organization, has 2.3 million members across Medicaid, Medicare and individual products in seven states. 

The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2023 and is pending regulatory approval, according to the release.
