Three people familiar with the deal told the outlet a deal could be reached by the end of the year. Centene purchased the chain of 60 clinics in 2021.

On Aug. 28, Centene said it had signed an agreement to sell Circle Health, which operates 53 hospitals in the U.K, to United Arab Emirates-based PureHealth for $1.2 billion.

Centene is focusing on its core lines of business in the U.S., a company spokesperson told the Financial Times.

“Part of this strategy has included a portfolio review and the decision to divest assets that fall outside this core focus in the United States and ex-United States,” the company said.
