The Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions has ordered RespondersHealth to cease and desist its insurance business in the state, as the company is unauthorized to sell health insurance.
According to the Aug. 22 order, in early 2025, the department received several complaints about RespondersHealth denying medical claims for holders of active health insurance plans. An investigation found RespondersHealth was operating without a department certificate that would allow it to enter healthcare insurance contracts in Arizona.
The state agency ordered the company to fulfill all obligations outlined by its contracts until they are cancelled and refund all premiums for Arizona consumers.
