Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri CEO Stephanie Vojicic said helping people navigate the eventual end of the COVID-19 public health emergency is her top priority in 2023, Forbes reported Nov. 29.
Once the public health emergency ends, Medicaid members will have 60 days' notice that their eligibility is being reviewed, Ms. Vojicic told the publication. Some will remain on Medicaid, some may be able to access a health plan through their employer and others will need to purchase a plan from the marketplace.
She said the end of the public health emergency could be a stressful time for Americans.
"I feel my personal and professional experience has prepared me for a situation such as this," she said. "It is our job to help people navigate this process — to reduce confusion and ensure people don't have a lapse in healthcare."
