UnitedHealthcare names Medicare president

UnitedHealthcare has named Robert (Bobby) Hunter as president of its Medicare business.

“I am thrilled about the opportunity to continue advancing our mission to provide vital services and benefits for the members we are honored to serve,” Mr. Hunter wrote on LinkedIn March 29. “I look forward to working closely with our state and federal partners and leading the best team in the industry!”

He has been with UnitedHealth since 2011 and most recently served as SVP of Medicare Advantage product and experience. As of December, UnitedHealthcare has 7.7 million Medicare Advantage members, 4.4 million members with Medicare supplement plans, and 3.3 million members with Part D benefits.
