Regence BlueShield of Idaho has named Daniel Meltzer, MD, as executive medical director.
Dr. Meltzer will lead Regence's healthcare affordability, quality, service and access initiatives for members through engagement with employers and providers throughout the state, according to a June 16 news release.
He was previously chief medical officer and senior vice president of Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Matrix Medical Network. Before that, he was chief of the emergency medicine department and chair of the emergency medicine residency program for Kaiser Permanente in San Diego.
