Priority Health, the insurance arm of Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Corewell Health, has named Nick Gates as interim president, effective May 1.
He succeeds Praveen Thadani, who made the decision to step away from the role, according to a news release from the health plan. Mr. Thadani will remain with the company as an advisor until June 13, while the company looks for a permanent president.
Mr. Gates was previously senior vice president of finance for Priority and has been with the organization since 2004, serving in various finance and leadership roles.
Priority Health has more than 1.3 million members across commercial, Medicare Advantage, ACA and Medicaid markets.
