Several payers are creating new executive-level roles to double-down on investing in sustainability, state programs and diversity. 

John Murabito, Cigna's 19-year chief human resources officer and chief administrative officer, is retiring on April 1, the payer announced Feb. 18. 

UnitedHealth Group named Patricia Lewis as the company's first chief sustainability officer, according to an announcement shared with Becker's.

Simeon Schindelman, Bright HealthCare's CEO, is stepping down from his role effective March 11, according to a Feb. 11 SEC filing. 

Corey Ewing was named CEO of WellCare of Kentucky, a Centene subsidiary, effective Feb. 14.

Jonathan Gavras, MD, former Florida Blue CMO and Bright HealthCare Florida president, joined home-based care company CareCentrix as its senior strategic clinical advisor.

Caroline Carney, MD, joined Magellan Healthcare as its president of behavioral health, the Centene subsidiary announced Feb. 7.

Blue Shield of California named Pamela DeCoste to its board of directors, the payer announced Feb. 1.

Charles Berg joined Cigna as its president of U.S. government business and senior advisor, effective Jan. 31.
