Oscar Health temporarily brings back former CFO, names chief transformation officer

Oscar Health CFO Scott Blackley will become the company's chief transformation officer Dec. 1, and former CFO, Sid Sankaran, will temporarily fill the role again as the company searches for a permanent fit.

The company's CEO, Mario Schlosser, told investors Nov. 8 that Mr. Blackley will focus on company profitability.

"He will also be partnering with me on the approach for how we leverage our technology stack and the larger strategic considerations for these parts of the company, including our go-to-market strategy for +Oscar," Mr. Schlosser said.

Oscar posted a $194 million net loss in the third quarter, an improvement of $18 million year over year, and said it expects to be profitable in 2024. It has over 1 million members in ACA markets, an increase of over 400,000 from last year. Its co-branded plan with Cigna has also grown to over 50,000 members.
