Optum has named Ben Eklo as its next chief financial officer, effective Nov. 1.
Mr. Eklo has been with the company for 18 years, a spokesperson for UnitedHealth Group told Becker’s. He replaces Roger Connor, who was named CFO of Optum in May.
“This change reflects our broad commitment toward optimal execution across the company that will help drive improved performance for years to come,” the UnitedHealth spokesperson said. “We appreciate that Roger Connor will remain with the organization for a period of time to ensure a seamless transition.”
Before being named Optum’s CFO earlier this year, Mr. Connor was CEO of Optum Insight, which is now being led by Sandeep Dadlani.
UnitedHealth has gone through several senior leadership changes this year, including former CEO Andrew Witty being replaced with former CEO Stephen Hemsley in May. In June, Amar Desai, MD, was replaced as CEO of Optum Health by Patrick Conway, MD, who also serves as CEO of Optum.
