Wes Donohoe is serving as Optum Health’s CEO for AI and product innovation, the company confirmed to Becker’s Sept. 28.

According to Mr. Donohoe’s LinkedIn post, he started the role, which focuses on AI and product innovation, Sept. 21. Mr. Donohoe said he spent his first week traveling to Minnesota and Texas to meet with team members. He also spent time with Optum’s Atrius Health, a medical group in Massachusetts.

“[Optum Health] has the greatest opportunity to improve the healthcare delivery system at a scale that will truly change healthcare in the U.S., the foundation to impact all walks of life and the ingredients to build products in a new way,” Mr. Donohoe said on LinkedIn. “Try something with one care team, learn from it, improve it and put it in front of millions of patients.”

Most recently, Mr. Donohoe was CEO of VisitRecall, an ambient AI scribe for patients, according to his LinkedIn profile. VisitRecall’s website said the business is in the process of closing. Mr. Donohoe has also been a general partner at venture fund BullVC since 2020.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this article listed Mr. Donohoe’s role as chief product officer based on a communication with Optum. The company then confirmed the CEO title.
