National Committee for Quality Assurance names health equity initiatives director

The National Committee for Quality Assurance has appointed Bryan Buckley, DrPH, director of health quality initiatives, where he will lead the organization's efforts to make healthcare more equitable and accessible.

Dr. Buckley most recently served as a research fellow with Medstar Health's Institute for Quality and Safety, according to an Aug. 23 NCQA news release. In that role, he led and supported healthcare delivery research, education, and consulting related to community health, patient safety and quality. 

His work at NCQA will be critical for several initiatives, including integrating diversity, inclusion and equity in NCQA programs, according to the news release. He will also work to evolve the organization's collaborations, contracts, grants and research strategies with a focus on accelerating health equity. 

In addition to his role at NCQA, Dr. Buckley serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.
