Magellan Healthcare names president of behavioral health

Caroline Carney, MD, joined Magellan Healthcare as its president of behavioral health, the Centene subsidiary announced Feb. 7.

Dr. Carney will helm Magellan Health’s behavioral health initiatives, including integrated and collaborative care. 

“Caroline is a forward-thinking leader who has a true passion for advancing behavioral health and has become a recognized and distinguished industry strategist and leader across multiple specialties,” said Magellan Health CEO Ken Fasola. “I look forward to the visionary thinking that she brings to her newly expanded role.”

Dr. Carney formerly served Magellan Healthcare as senior vice president and CMO. She also served as CMO of Magellan Complete Care of Arizona, Tenet Health Plans, MDWise and the Indiana Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning.
