Managed care organization Magellan Health, part of Centene, has appointed Steven Pratt, MD, as chief medical officer, according to a Sept. 10 news release.
Dr. Pratt, a psychiatrist, will further the company’s clinical mission and engagement in his new role. He previously served as Magellan’s senior medical director of the employer segment and vice president and medical director.
Before joining Magellan, Dr. Pratt worked as the executive medical director of behavioral health for the Minnesota Department of Human Services and held clinical leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group.
“His 25 years of healthcare experience, spanning from direct patient care to administrative oversight of clinicians, will be a valuable contribution to Magellan that will further our mission of bringing evidence-based solutions to those we serve,” CEO Caroline Carney, MD, said.
