L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly operated health plan in the U.S., has promoted Afzal Shah to CFO.
He had been deputy CFO under Marie Montgomery, who has now retired, according to an April 18 news release.
Prior to joining L.A. Care, Mr. Shah worked at Medicare Advantage company Alignment Healthcare, where he served as SVP and California market president. He has also held leadership roles at Health Net and Centene.
