Mr. Howell will lead SelectHealth’s expansion into the Colorado insurance market later this year, which is part of a new partnership with Intermountain and Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth, according to a March 30 news release shared with Becker’s.

The combined venture plans to offer Medicare Advantage and ACA exchange plans in Colorado, pending regulatory approval.

Mr. Howell will also be responsible for regulatory, legislative, and business initiatives and opportunities; community outreach; and working with network providers. Previously, he served as a multi-state market president at Bright Healthcare.

SelectHealth currently has more than 1 million members in Utah, Idaho and Nevada.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
