Independence Blue Cross named Christine Kourouklis as executive vice president, CFO and treasurer and Brian Iaia as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, the company shared Sept. 24.
“Christine and Brian bring the leadership and strategic insight we need to strengthen our organization, continue delivering for our members and customers and help shape the future of IBX,” Independence Blue Cross President and CEO Kelly Munson said in the news release.
Ms. Kourouklis most recently served as CFO for AmeriHealth Caritas, jointly owned by Independence Health Group and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Previously, she was Health Care Service Corp.’s president of Medicare and CFO for the government and consumer businesses. She brings more than two decades of financial leadership at health plans and across product lines, the news release said.
Mr. Iaia joined Independence Blue Cross from UnitedHealth Group. He had been part of the company’s senior legal and regulatory leadership since 2009, including his most recent role as senior vice president and senior deputy general counsel for UnitedHealthcare National Regulatory Affairs and Transactions. Mr. Iaia had also been general counsel of UnitedHealthcare Global. He has more than 25 years of leadership experience across legal, compliance, regulatory and corporate matters. Mr. Iaia spearheaded AI and automation technologies adoption to advance this work, as well.
