Humana's chief medical officer departs

Humana's chief medical officer, William Shrank, said in a LinkedIn post he is leaving the company on Aug. 5 after three and a half years.

Previously, Mr. Shrank was chief medical officer of the UPMC Health Plan and was senior vice president, chief scientific officer and chief medical officer of provider innovation at CVS Health's Caremark.

"I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with such a talented and committed team with the goal of delivering more integrated, more seamless and more holistic care for our seniors," he wrote. "We have a lot to be proud of … from fostering team-based care at scale, to rapidly growing and enhancing the clinical culture of our senior-focused primary care, to driving more progressive value-based care models."
