Mr. Mehta was most recently chief data officer at investment bank Citi, according to a Dec. 20 news release. He previously held leadership roles at JPMorgan, Barclays and Verizon.

Sam Deshpande, Humana’s current CIO, will retire at the end of 2024, according to the release. He will remain in an advisory role for the company.

Mr. Mehta is the latest executive named in a year of C-suite shakeups at Humana. CFO Susan Diamond will step down after 18 years with the company in January, and newly appointed CFO Celeste Mellet will assume the role.

In July, Jim Rechtin, Humana’s CEO, took over after Bruce Broussard stepped down after a decade at the helm.
