Humana elected David Feinberg, MD, president and CEO of Cerner, to its board of directors, the payer announced March 1.
Dr. Feinberg currently leads the health IT company but also has leadership experience with Google Health, Geisinger Health and the University of California Los Angeles.
His addition to the board brings its membership to 14 people.
"David is a proven executive with tremendous experience in the healthcare industry, leading organizations focused on technology and digital innovation to improve clinical care," said Humana chair Kurt Hilzinger. "His background, patient-centric mindset, operating experience and expertise in guiding systems transformations will benefit Humana as the Company continues to grow, innovate and execute on its strategy."
