Highmark Health Plan has named a new president, promoting COO Tom Doran to the top role.
Deborah Rice-Johnson, the health plan's former CEO, departed to become CEO of diversified business and chief growth officer at Highmark Health, the Health Plan's parent company, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
According to a Jan. 5 news release, Mr. Doran joined Highmark Health in 2017 as president of subsidiary HM Insurance Group. He became Highmark Health Plan's CFO in 2019 and later transitioned to COO.
Highmark Health owns Allegheny Health Network and Highmark Inc., or Highmark Health Plan, which operates the BCBS affiliates in Delaware, West Virginia and parts of Pennsylvania and New York.
